Topplista er Norges offisielle hitliste og publiseres hver fredag kl. 15.00.

16. oktober 1958 ble hitlisten Ti på topp etablert i VG og ble etter hvert kjent som VG-lista. Den viste ukentlig de mest solgte singlene i Norge. Fra 4. januar 1967 inkluderte listen også album. I flere tiår har IFPI Norge utviklet, publisert og finansiert Norges offisielle hitlister – først i samarbeid med VG under navnet VG-lista, og siden 2018 som Topplista på topplista.no. Fra 4. april 2025 publiseres Topplista i samarbeid med Amedias Nettavisen, og fra 25. april 2025 også i samarbeid med Bauer Media som eget radioshow hver fredag ettermiddag på NRJ.

Den nye Topplista

Fra 4. april 2025 utvides de eksisterende listene for singler, album og radio fra topp 40 til topp 100. I tillegg publiseres nye lister for norsk musikk og fysisk albumsalg, som reflekterer det økende engasjementet for både nasjonal musikk og fysiske formater som vinyl og CD.

Samarbeid mellom IFPI og FONO

IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) etablerte sin norske avdeling i 1939, og har siden jobbet for å fremme interessene til utgivere av innspilt musikk. Nå samarbeider IFPI for første gang med FONO om Topplista. FONO er interesseorganisasjonen for mange av de uavhengige norske plateselskapene, stiftet i 1980. Sammen representerer de to organisasjonene majoriteten av de norske plateselskapene, og har allerede samarbeidet i mange år om Spellemannprisen.

Nytt trofé for låter som når førsteplass

4. april 2025 ble et helt nytt trofé innført, som tildeles alle låter som går til førsteplass på singellisten. Troféet deles ut til artisten bak låta den første fredagen den blir nr. 1. Det er utført i aluminium av Olaussens Metall i Haugesund.

Ny musikk fredag

I juli 2015 lanserte IFPI Global Release Day, i dag kjent som New Music Friday, der fredagen ble felles internasjonal utgivelsesdag. Fredag er dagen Topplista publiseres, og den dagen flest slipper ny musikk. Det er også tidspunktet i uken folk flest oppdaterer seg på nye utgivelser og lytter mest til musikk. Slik lages Topplista

Topplista måles ukentlig fra torsdag til onsdag. På vegne av IFPI Norge settes salgslistene sammen av britiske Ranger i samarbeid med norske Sesong 1. Listene bygger på salgsdata fra strømming, nedlastning og fysisk salg i Norge. Listene rangeres etter hvilke titler som selger mest.

• Fysisk salg: Apollon, Big Dipper, Platekompaniet

IFPI samarbeider med norske MusicDNA, som siden mars 2025 lager radiolisten. Radio Topp 100 inkluderer data fra måling av musikk spilt på rundt 150 norske radiostasjoner. Hver radiospilling vektes etter lyttertall, ukedag og tidspunkt på døgnet – jo flere som hører låta, jo høyere poengsum får den. Låten med høyest poengsum i løpet av uken går til topps.

Topplista is Norway’s official chart and is published every Friday at 15:00 (3:00 p.m.)

On 16th October 1958, the singles chart Ti på topp was established in VG, later becoming known as VG-lista. It presented the weekly best-selling singles in Norway. From 4th January 1967, the chart also included albums. For several decades, IFPI Norway has developed, published, and financed Norway’s official charts — first in cooperation with VG under the name VG-lista, and since 2018 as Topplista on topplista.no. From 4th April 2025, Topplista will be published in collaboration with Amedia’s Nettavisen, and from 25th April 2025, also with Bauer Media as a dedicated radio show every Friday afternoon on NRJ.

The new Topplista

From 4th April 2025, the existing single, album, and radio charts will expand from Top 40 to Top 100. In addition, new charts for Norwegian music and physical album sales will be published, reflecting the growing interest in both national music and physical formats such as vinyl and CD.

Collaboration between IFPI and FONO

IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) established its Norwegian branch in 1939 and has since worked to promote the interests of recorded music producers. For the first time, IFPI is now collaborating with FONO on Topplista. FONO is the interest organisation for many independent Norwegian record labels, founded in 1980. Together, the two organisations represent the majority of Norwegian record companies, and they have already cooperated for many years on the Spellemann Awards.

New trophy for songs reaching number one

On 4th April 2025, a brand-new trophy was introduced, awarded to every song that reaches number one on the singles chart. The trophy is presented to the artist behind the song on the first Friday it hits No. 1. It is crafted in aluminium by Olaussens Metall in Haugesund.

New Music Friday

In July 2015, IFPI launched Global Release Day, today known as New Music Friday, making Friday the global release day for new music. Friday is also the day Topplista is published, and the day when most new music is released worldwide. It is the moment in the week when most listeners discover new music and update their playlists. Topplista is published every Friday at 15:00 (3:00 p.m.).

How Topplista is compiled

Topplista is measured weekly from Thursday through Wednesday. On behalf of IFPI Norway, the sales charts are compiled by UK-based Ranger in cooperation with Norwegian company Sesong 1. The charts are based on sales data from streaming, downloads, and physical sales in Norway, ranked by the highest-selling titles.

• Physical sales: Apollon, Big Dipper, Platekompaniet

IFPI also cooperates with the Norwegian company MusicDNA, which, since March 2025, has been responsible for the radio chart. Radio Topp 100 includes airplay data from about 150 Norwegian radio stations. Each play is weighted by audience size, day of the week, and time of day — the more people who hear the track, the higher its score. The track with the highest weekly score tops the chart.
